DIALEKTIKA KUNINGAN — This year’s Ramadan has brought a different kind of blessing to residents of Palutungan hamlet in Cisantana Village, Cigugur District, Kuningan Regency, West Java. For years, many families there had hoped for stable access to electricity.

Member of DPR RI from the Gerindra Party faction, H. Rokhmat Ardiyan, MM., partnered with PLN to roll out a free electricity installation program on Tuesday (February 24, 2026). The initiative targeted households that had yet to enjoy proper connections, along with key public facilities.

Through the Light Up The Dream initiative and the Bantuan Pasang Baru Listrik (BPBL) scheme, assistance was delivered to three underprivileged families and three essential facilities, including local Posyandu posts and PAUD Anggrek.

An emotional moment unfolded when Rokhmat Ardiyan and General Manager of PLN UID West Java, Sugeng Widodo, symbolically switched on a light at one of the beneficiary homes. For residents, it marked more than just a new connection—it signaled a long-awaited change.

For the Gerindra politician, electricity is not merely about lighting up the night. He described it as a backbone for education, healthcare services, and small-scale economic activity in rural communities.

“The 900-watt connection installed today shows the state is present through collaboration between DPR RI, relevant ministries, and PLN,” said Rokhmat, who is widely known as Haji Rokhmat Ardiyan (HRA).

Across West Java, similar assistance programs continue to expand. In Kuningan Regency alone, around 3,000 free electricity connections have already been installed under various schemes.

HRA expressed hope that with reliable electricity, residents could become more productive and observe Ramadan more comfortably, whether for late-night Qur’an recitation or preparing pre-dawn meals.

Accompanied by his wife, Hj. Dian Marina Puspita, he also reminded PLN to maintain supply reliability throughout the holy month, when household electricity use typically increases.

Meanwhile, Sugeng Widodo, GM of PLN UID West Java, acknowledged the ongoing support from Commission XII of DPR RI in advancing equal access to energy.

According to Sugeng, the program reflects a commitment to what he called “electricity with fairness,” ensuring that people in remote areas can enjoy the same quality of life as those in urban centers.

Gratitude was also voiced by Sri, a representative of PAUD Anggrek. She said the school would greatly benefit from reliable electricity, especially during daily learning activities.

The event in Cisantana was not limited to electrical installations. Organizers also distributed donations to orphans and provided staple food packages to underprivileged families.

The handover took place in a warm and modest atmosphere, with residents hoping the assistance would ease household expenses during Ramadan.

The program concluded with coordination among institutions to ensure that electricity services remain stable and uninterrupted as the community continues its Ramadan observances.***
